I think fanaticism is always uncalled for.

That makes two of us. There is however a difference between a adherence to a certain world view, theology etc that one is fervent or enlivened by, and I see that as the case here. We should agree to differ.

Ask your elevated personality if there is anyone in his religious sect (Hare Krishna) alive today that is completely spiritually enlightened other the guru he presently serves.

We serve the same Guru, His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. I am proud to be his disciple.

Listen to his analysis of rasa and then read Madhusudana Saraswati’s in his Bhagavata-bhakti rasayana. Then you will see that what your elevated person is speaking is merely sectarian dogma tweaked to sound like an objective, universal truth

The truth has nothing to do with objectivity (in the strictest sense). It is by itself and for itself - completely autocratic and conscious - it sounds to me like you may already know that. In fact our line is more interested in the Subjective Evolution of Consciousness [PDF], rather than any superficial objectivity. Notions of objectivity are relative to our position as we seek that truth. Goswami Maharaj is talking about his realisation and sharing that with us, that is all. You can take it or leave it, that is fine.

We can catch glimpses of it, rather like a Jewel can be seen from different angles of vision. Lets share that rather than wading through the mud of lower argument. There are many paths, good luck to you on yours.

Funny to hear this talk about a plurality of spiritual traditions from a person who is himself a religious fanatic [...]

Fanaticism implies a certain narrowness of vision, that in this case is completely inappropriate and uncalled for.

Overall, your comment is a rather narrow description of who I consider to be an elevated personality, and the higher thoughts that he so eloquently extols. For me, this video gave a fantastic glimpse of the Vedic/Krishna conception in a very accessible way.

Funny to hear this talk about a plurality of spiritual traditions from a person who is himself a religious fanatic within his own Krishna sect. That religious system he is speaking about is not only his religion but within that his own sect. In fact only his sect got it right. Pathetic.

1Special Song for you….

Soldier Of Fortune ( Depp Purple)

I have often told you stories
About the way
I lived the life of a drifter
Waiting for the day
When I'd take your hand
And sing you songs
Then maybe you would say
Come lay with me love me
And I would surely stay

But I feel I'm growing older
And the songs that I have sung
Echo in the distance
Like the sound
Of a windmill goin' 'round
I guess I'll always be...
A soldier of fortune

Many times I've been a traveller
I looked for something new
In days of old
When nights were cold
I wandered without you
But those days I thougt my eyes
Had seen you standing near
Though blindness is confusing
It shows that you're not here

Now I feel I'm growing older
And the songs that I have sung
Echo in the distance
Like the sound
Of a windmill goin' 'round
I guess I'll always be...
A soldier of fortune
Yes, I can hear the sound
Of a windmill goin' 'round
I guess I'll always be
A soldier of fortune

Religion and Evolution does not matter. Here is what matters.
In 1973 the world's population was 3.9 Billion people. In 2009 the world's population is 6.8 Billion people. Experts predict that by the year 2050 the world's population will be 9.1 Billion people. As you can clearly see the population is constantly increasing. Japan has already cut their people back to one child per family. And even then their population will still continue to increase. If there's poverty, starvation, global warming and a hole in the ozone layer now, what do you think it will be like in 500 years? In the future the entire earth will be nothing but one big giant New York City. Your generations will cross the entire United States without seeing a single blade of grass or a tree. When this happens and the ozone layer is completely gone your generations are going to suffer hell like they've never suffered hell before. In the future on Christmas Day your generations will have a human body on the table for food because there won't be anythingelse to eat. They will resort to cannibalism to survive. If you don't want this to happen then I suggest that you stop creating and tell your children when they grow up not to create. Save your generations from pain and misery by not creating them. I am 100% sure they will appreciate not being created. Spread this message to the entire world. JC
